I ordered a Inspiron 1420 last night (with a estimated shipping date of Aug-9) and I was charged on my debit card today morning. When I spoke to a customer rep last night, he told me that Dell charges their customers when the invoice is due, and invoices are due on the day Dell ships out the product.

So what the rep told me seems totally contradictory to Dell's charge I saw this morning.

When did Dell charge you for your computer? Was it on the next day of the order or the day of the shipping?

    Hi mx7,

When I ordered my Inspiron 6400 from Dell's UK website, my credit card was charged as soon as the order was made. I made my order late at night, so the money was taken from the credit card the following morning.
