I got a 1 inch long pen(ballpoint) mark on my touchpad, near the bottom. I tried taking a damp tissue and rubbing it but it will not come off, is there anything else i can do? Does the touchpad surface have paint on it? thanks.

I do not think the trackpad is painted, rather i think it is a dyed vinyl or plastic...maybe try some rubbing alcohol or hairspray...doesn' that take ink off clothes?? lol I mean just spray a little into a cup or something and paint a little on. That's rough though dude, good luck.

I would put rubbing alcohol but i am scared it may ruin the finish on the touchpad

I doubt it would anymore than water would.

you might be able to scratch it off...be careful because you might scratch the touchpad though. any sharp point would do it...paper clip.

again, BE CAREFUL with that idea...

I would be more worried about scratching the touchpad, I doubt that it would do anything other than mark up the trackpad surface. If you're afraid of ruining the finish, perhaps you're better off leaving the mark alone. As long as it is only a cosmetic thing, it may not be worth the stress of worrying about it.

If it doesnt come off its not that big of a deal. It doesnt effect the operation of the notebook.

true, but considering the notebook is 4 days old and already has a cosmetic flaw, it's kind of dissapointing.

Just put some alcohol on a cotton swab and carefully remove the ink! You can mix alcohol with water (50:50) to be even safer!

Cripes, use and wear will likely rub it off, I'd never use nail polish remover or alcohol, you could really f@#$ it up with those...
