i just recently reformatted my dell 1520 as i noticed it was kinda sluggish. when i reformatted i noticed that there were 3 partitions. 1 being the main partition, another one for media direct, and a third one. i didnt like media direct and did not want to use it so i deleted the main partition and the partition with the media direct in it, leaving the third partition untouched, so now i have just two partitions....IS DELETING THE MEDIA DIRECT PARTITION HARMFUL OR DANGEROUS? cause i noticed that everytime i play a game, my hardrive make continous clciking noise and it wasnt doing that b4 the reformat...or maby is it just my HD?

partitioning the hdd is not harmful. you did alright. about the clicking noise and some solutions there are already quite some threads in this forum.
    please do a quick search.

so don´t be afraid, you did nothing wrong.

Media Direct just won't work without its own partition, but no it would not cause any harm to your system.

The worst that could happen is you could end up with a functionless Media Direct button above the keyboard. But if you search these boards, you should reveal several experimental threads that document ways to re-assign that button to something more productive for you.

    Fear not. :)

Affirmative. I deleted both my MD partition and my Dell Recovery partition (not to be confused with Dell Utility partition). ;)

Call Dell and ask them to replace your hard drive. Whining about it here won't help anything.
