    For Dell E1505,

on leaving the notebook idle for 20-25 min the screen is powered off by the settings.. BUT how do u turn it on ??

    its not hibernated
    its not on standby

CPU is running, hdd is running, just the screen is powered off, i am unable to switch it back by mouse movement, pressing Esc key, pressing all the keys on the keyboard, ctrl+alt+del doesnt work..

is it something wrong with the system ?

to workround the problem i have to restart the notebook then its working fine !!

    HELP !

Strange... moving the mouse/touchpad or pressing a key should power the monitor on again.
If you close the lid and open it again it still stays off?
You're sure the HDD is running?

Have a look under QuickSet to see what the screen options are like. I'm not sure if there's something to do with the screen powering off and how to power it back on.
