Hey, so I was shopping around, looking at some M1330 options, and I came across the Dell Canada website. I built this system on both the U.S. and Canadian Dell site:

    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7100 (1.8GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium Edition
Slim and Light White LED Display with VGA Webcam
2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
    120GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
    128MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8400M GS
    8X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
IntelJ 3945 802.11a/g Mini-card (added to the CA system for the sake of being exact)

This would be almost ideal for me. The price?

    $1,799 USD vs. $1639 CAD ($1531 USD)

That's almost a $300 difference. Am I missing something? Is there anything stopping me from ordering through the Canadian website?

    Well that's no fun.

Why does Canada get such a big break, then? Dell is a U.S. company, after all.

Wow, Canada doesn't get shafted by retailers for once. Go Dell.

The price difference is probably because of the upgrade to the LED screen is $0. It's probably a price mistake that will be corrected before long.

I don't know... Keep in mind dell has been screwing canadians for the past 4 years. Not only have their prices not reflected the MASSIVE jump in the currency value($0.66 = $1 american in '00. $0.96 = $1 american today) until now, but they also refused to release any half decent coupons. You would see a "$500 off any purchase over $1200" in the states every now and then. Best you would see in canada was "$200 off any purchase over $2000".

Maybe this is their way of leveling out for the canadian consumer. I mean 5 days ago a inspiron 9400(canadian version of the e1705) was literally half again as expensive as the e1705, even if the config.s were the exact same.

Well what I meant was somehow working something out then bringing it back here, and not paying importation taxes (which 99.9% of everyone would of done) was illegal.
