Had my 1520 for only 15 minutes ...

Ha! We have a security camera in my work area (a corporate server room), a co-worker and I have accessed the DVR PC and can see me (in the corner of the screen) unboxing the PC and then later laughing with the others that had gathered. You won't be able to see the actual problems with the laptop, but you can see me investigating the missing front media button and then later a roar of laughs from me and my coworkers when the power button gets pressed in. We've compressed the video (7MB) and figuring out how to upload it somewhere (we're unable to connect to any sites that aren't business related, i.e., YouTube, etc). If we can't figure out anything, I'm going to burn the clip to CD and take it home over my lunch hour for uploading. Stay tuned.

Bad argument. My Chevy Aveo is less than a year old and has less than 9000 miles on it. Last week I was driving down the interstate and my passenger sideview mirror FELL OUT. I CAN back this up with pictures, if necessary .

Listen, instead of going through all the trouble of posting you companies security video (likely something that could get you fired), why don't you just answer the following questions posted earlier- ok?

Pls describe how the laptop was packed when you opened the box. You mentioned it was packed in styrofoam. Describe whether it was sandwiched between 2 pieces top / bottom, with end caps or something else. Was it in any sleeve within or outside of the styrofoam?

And the final mini-test so we can determine if you're legit or just a pathetic Dell basher, was there any picture or symbol on the packaging in direct contact with the laptop itself? If so, describe what it was...

 

Alright, we have a DSL line thats sole use is for vendors and auditors when they are in the building (we had a bad experience of a vendor putting their virus infected (unknowingly) laptop on our network). Anyway, it's a straight connection to the internet without going through our company filters and firewalls. I'm going to lunch in 10 mins (man, it's been a long day ), and will upload it then. i hope you have another job lined up for when you get fired from this one for posting internal security camera footage on the internet.

wow, i wonder why there are so many anti-dell people around here. man, they're friggin cheap with medium build quality (for lower end laptops) and good specs. why complain? and why damage their reputation?
