So after talking to 3 people online, I decided to phone dell today.
According to my online status, my laptop went into production as of August 8th, the day after I ordered it. My ESD online is September 10.

So all 3 people online last week, told me my computer was still being built and it had 9 (or less) depending on the day I was talking to them days left.
With a EDD of August 30th.

Today on the phone I was told that my laptop hasnt even started being built yet!!!! And that I wouldnt espect it until the middle of September.
Also was told Dell Canada doesnt offer next day delivery!

I also ordered on August 8th (a D630, though), and got the same ESD (sept. 10th). It's also been on "Production" since. Your post pretty much killed whatever hope I had of getting it sooner. I'll call Dell tonight... maybe (hopefully) I'll get a different answer.

Yeah it sucks bad. By that time it will be like 40 days. But she was like, well it could change, for better or worse :(
I know a lot of people here have waited at least 40 days, but you would think dell would hurry up and get caught up.

Switch to black or get a Vostro... it's really the colors that is holding it back. Check my sig.

Also, since they don't charge until it ships, you could order another one and see which one arrives first. Cancelling is easy and it took me about 30 minutes (mostly waiting time on the phone).

It's the same chassis as the Inspiron anyway, the only difference being the paint job and that oh so horrid lid.

I ordered a black 1520 to hedge my bets over EVER seeing my midnight blue computer ship. It's been 13 days since I ordered the blank one and nothing.

Why go for a black inspiron when you could get a vostro?

And I just set up a vostro 1500 with your specs and it's pretty much the same price.

yeah i asked today, if cancelling and going with a black computer or a different type would make a difference and was told no. That right now blue lids are the only thing stopping me and everyone else

Well, you could try ordering a vostro... chances are the vostro will ship before the other one is even done.
