I'm going to be getting Halo 2 for my 1420 for my birthday, and I'd like to know if anybody else owns or has tried out Halo 2 for Vista.

I also have a few questions about it:
    1) Can you talk with other people through the built-in microphone on Live?
    2) Can you use an Xbox 360 PC wireless controller?

    Thanks in advance.

    1. Yes, but for the love of god get a headset, or no one will like you.
    2. Yes.

What's the difference between the headset and a microphone?

The built in microphone on your computer sounds like crap. You'll get "WTF is that guy saying" and "get a headset you *****" from those lovely and respectful Halo players.

Well, if my parents knew I was talking with people on Live...and a headset makes it look pretty damn obvious...

How well do you think Halo 2 would run on my PC? My specs are in my sig.

It's a 3 year old game that everyone's played to death on the XBOX. With the influx of great shooters that just came out, I don't see the Halo 2 for Windows fanbase to grow much.

    way to go microsoft!

it's it funny how the crappy games (usually movie based games) come out on time, but the ones you are dying to play take soo long?

this reminds me of the mmorpg Matrix Online...
they said how this game was going to be like a continuation of the 3rd movie...hyped it up..etc....
then the game didnt come out for at least a year after the 3rd movie...by the time the game came out, me and i'm sure a ton of other people were like, "who cares"

now with call of duty 4, bioshock, crysis, and quakewars, how many PC players do they expect to buy halo ? lol

I'm probably going to get halo 2 sometime soon too, I also have a 8400m gs..
So you guys think it'll be able to run at low-med at decent framerates? (decent as in 25-35)
Halo 2 doesn't seem that gpu intensive though..I would expect it run nicely at at least med settings...
I can run bioshock and crysis at around 25fps with everything on low so yeah..

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DONT GET THIS GAME

    here are my reasons

    1) it runs like crap (even on LOWEST SETTINGS it lags way too much)
    2) it looks like crap
    3) The controls are HORRIBLE due to the fact that its a port

i can run most things fine on my 1330... but this just refuses to play fair. OH and it kicks up a stink when you try to use widescreen resolutions as well.

i recommend getting COD4 or something instead , WAY better game

    Really?
    Aww, that's disappointing...

    Yeah, COD4 looks really nice
The demo runs really really well on my m1330
