    Greetings Everyone...

I have been reading various post here and am learning alot! I have 2 Dell Computers as described below:

    1. Dell 531 S - 2.3 AMD Athalon x 2 - 2 Gigs Ram, 250 gig hard drive, Dual
layer DVD/CD, Flobby drive - Nvida 256 meg video card-
    20" Dell monitor 1680 x 1050- res. Purchased 11-21-07

    2. Dell 1420 - 2.4 Duo Core - 4 Gigs Ram, 340 gig hard drive, DVD Dual
    layer, Nvida 128 meg video card - 1280 x 800 res.
    Purchased 4-4-08 - received 4-8-08.

I really enjoy the choices Dell gives you to "custom" build your own machine, depending on your budget, and what you want to use it for.

Where I work, all office computers are Dell, we rarely have a problem with any of them! They are on 24/7. To be honest, thats one of the reasons I chose to look into Dell for my personal computer's.

Dell is a big company and they are bound go "blow it" now and then, but by and large, great to do business with.

The "jury" is still out on my 1420 Inspiron, but so far so good, does everything I want it to do, and fast!

    Best

    Bob

Have 2 desktops and an inspiron 8500. All have performed flawlessly.

I currently have an m1330 in the pre-production stage and am hoping the trend of quality build and service will continue on my new one too.

    Dell rock.

Of course, from time to time sh*t happens and something will go wrong on a product....but tell me ONE company that has a 100% flawless production line...

I only wish that there were more posts that talked about the GOOD side of things and not only the problems.

I love Dell. Customer service to tech support is solid. Good luck to everyone and their Dell products. I suffered at the hands of Toshiba. I feel so much better.

That's great to hear!!! ;) I haven't really had any problems with my 1530, although I did have to call tech support the other day for a minor issue..and the XPS tech support specialist took care of the issue I was having very quickly. He also answered a few other questions I had without any troubles.

He was very polite, and patient with me (as I was a bit frustrated at first). But at the end of the call I was good to go, and happy that he handled my issue in a professional and courteous manner ;) ))

    Congrat's on your 1420, I'm sure you will like it ;) :D

    Thanks everyone!

I am glad to hear about other positive experiences with Dell. I call a spade a spade.. if I was not happy with it, I would say so.

Speaking of my 1420... I like it more each day!

Love Dell. I just think, why search Best Buy for monthes for a decent laptop that never comes along and is quite low-end when I could get what I want from Dell? Great laptops, great upgrades, great prices--all about what makes the Dell the best... :)

i cant say I like dell TO much, but they make good, solid high end products, such as the XPS line. As for lower end computers, i'd go with HP any day...

Also, cant say I like Dell customer service. Im in the middle of the samsung/LG lottery =[

I generally like Dell's stuff. I really liked the 1530 but last week has pretty much made me completely anti Dell. I was talking to a friend... it's pretty sad because I said if my display was a good one I'd be like 200% satisfied with my purchase. Even with the crappy display I'd say I was like 75% satisfied... but after dealing with customer service I'm at like negative percentage now. Laptop's going back... I'll just find something else to suit my needs.

I am glad for those that were able to get their LG screens or are happy with their stuff from Dell =P. I'm just not as fortunate.

Same here, never had a issue with Dell been pretty happy with their service. A year after getting my 1505 my 9 cell battery was going out, I called dell and they replaced it with a brand new battery. They also replace my 1505 with a M1530.
