Hello,
I recently ordered an i6000 with an 80 GB hard drive. After reading many reviews, I have decided that it would be much better to go with the 60 GB 7200 rpm hard drive instead. It said on the dell website that my inspiron has already shipped. Does anyone know if it is still possible for me to get the 7200 hard drive?
Do I need to return the i6000 to Dell so they can swap hard drives or do I need to order a whole new system from the website?
Is this even worth my troubles? I am using the notebook for school, occasional gaming, and alot of music programs.
Thanks

If it has already shipped, you are going to have to return it. You could refuse delivery. Dell is pretty good about getting you your money back. You will get a noticeable performance boost from a 7200RPM drive. You could just buy one and upgrade it yourself. Throw the old one in an external case for extra storage. Good Luck.

Also,
Do you know if I replace my dell factory hard drive with a different model - will it void the warrenty? -
Thanks.
Do you know anything about western digital or maxtor hard drives? I was looking at their 60 gb 7200 because they are about half the price of the hitachi and about a quarter of Dell's price. -
Western Digital and Maxtor do not make 7200RPM notebook hard drives. Maxtor does not make any notebook drives. The only one who makes 7200RPM notebook drives at the moment is Hitachi. Upgrading your hard drive should not void the warranty. Good Luck.

Do you know where I can get a good deal on the Hitachi?
