    Hi all

I am having this strange problem..

When my m1210 comes back from standby mode, the hard drive will begin to make this 'whining' noise. It's so loud that I can hear it across the room. The only solution to solve this problem is to power down the computer completely and turn it back on.

Now is this a hard drive issue or something else ? Does anyone ever had this problem?

    Thank you all.

if that noise is abnormal than the usual reading noise of the HDD, you should ask Dell to do a test on the system. Call tech support . If the tests passes and u still worry about the noise, tell them send you a new HDD rather than send it back to be fix. Send it back costs more time . If you have at home service that's also good. Replacement parts from Dell is processed pretty fast.. tell them to rush it so it'll be next day shipping :D.
