    What is the actual size of a 200 gig hard drive. I just order the xps1530 with the 200 gig hdd.

    What do you mean...200 gig is 200 gig...

    What will you have available to use? Or what is its total formated capacity? Is that what your asking?

    I was wondering what the total formated capacity is. A friend of my just recived his xps 1530 two days ago, and his hard drive is only showing 173 gb. of capacity.

    You have to remember that 200 gigabytes (what Dell tells you) is equal to 186 gibibytes (what Microsoft tells you). Subtract from that the recovery and media direct partition sizes and you probably have 173 gibibytes
