    Hard time unscrewing

    The screws on my vostro 1500 is too tightly screwed, i have the right phillips driver but i cant even loosen any screws a bit, I need to upgrade my hard drive :(

    Get a better screw driver. Or hit the gym.

    HAHA a hammer drill. Puts my 14.4 and 18v drills to shame. Not my impact drill though!

    well... i didn't mention that the screw driver set was bought for 1 buck lol i'll get more expensive ones but still its damn tight

    I can just use a regular 4 in one screw driver. They don't have to be watch sized. That way with a real handle on the screw driver you can actually get some torque on it.

    Ha ha! Jokes aside, I know what you're talking about. I do tech support on the side for a real estate firm, and all the agents have their own assorted laptops which I have to support. (An aside, apparently no laptop is too old and decrepit for a real estate agent.) I needed to swap out a HD on an out of warranty Inspiron the other day, and dang it if I couldn't get the screws out! The stupid things were so tight I'd literallly stripped a couple of them down to the point where I'd never had gotten them loose. I've even got decent tools.

    Ultimately I was able to remove them, but it was close. They must make those screws out of the world's softest metal.
