A technician took out my hard drive so that my laptop could be sent to the depot. Can I use a flat head screw drive to put hardrive back in? It is an E1705.

A screwdriver is all that is normally need to do that.

I'd say it'll depend on how tight the screws are.
If you don't use a lof of force to truly tighten them (and they aren't tight initially) a flat head screwdriver would be ok.
Else what PvD mentioned is very likely to happen. -
