So will dell replace your laptop if a piece of hardware isn't working such as the disk drive, screen, touchpad or do they just replace the faulty piece and return you the same laptop? Thanks in advance.

Depending on the warranty you have, they will either ask you to send the laptop, repare it and send it back for bigger/more complicated components or send you the component and assists you by phone to install it if it's a smaler component (RAM, keyboard, HDD).

IF the computer is beyond repair and you have full coverage they may send a new one but don't keep your hopes up.

Well I'm having a couple of issues with the disk drive and the touch keys for volume control on the laptop and those are things I'd hope they would handle. I'll give them a call today. 24/7 tech support or am I gonna have to wait till Monday?
