I'm curious if / when Dell started shipping the Mini with the N550 and/or DDR3 RAM.

I just ordered a refurb from the Dell Outlet with the 15% off coupon. In the details it says N450, but further down it says N550. And in the details it also says DDR2 800MHz, but in the description it said DDR3.

I guess I don't care so much, I'd prefer the N550 because it's dual core and DDR3 because I have a 2GB module I'd like to swap out with the 1GB that's in there.

It seems on the regular Dell Home site, the 1012 ships with DDR2 and N450 with no option for N550. So not sure what to think, or if it was offered previously and is available on the outlet as a refurb. I know I'll find out soon enough, but would rather order my 2GB DDR2 RAM and sell my DDR3 if that's the case.

Right, but my question is did Dell sell the 1012 at all with the N550? I got it refurb so perhaps they sold them at one point with the N550. I dunno. I ask because new machines you can't configure with the wi-fi N, but that's what my refurb says it comes with. Also, they are only offering 1366x768 screens for the new machnes, and many of the 1012 refurbs come with the 1024x600.

I'll admit the details look pretty screwed up any way you look at it anyhow. I guess I'll know for sure in a week!

Maybe you got the first quad core netbook! I think you got the N450, my Latitude 13 said I had a WD 160 GB HDD when I actually received a Toshiba drive and it had both P/N on the parts list.

N550 is a dual core with hyperthreading, so not quad core. The HP Mini 210 comes with the N550.

I mean the fact your netbook parts list had 2 x Atom processors. :p guess you didn't see my hint of sarcasm lol.

Just take the Dell parts list with a grain of salt.

Oh gotcha, yeah. That would be incredible, not even a quad core, but a dual CPU netbook.
