Has anyone gotten the regular dell card that comes standard on Vostros and Inspirons, and been able to reach a router/modem that is down 3 stories? (ie your on the third floor and the router is on the first?

it realy depends what your going through, if its solid concrete and rebar then its doubtful the signal will make it through....but if it is drywall or lathe then it shouldnt be an issue, try moving the laptop or setting up a repeater

Absolutely, there's no problem with the Dell Branded WiFi cards. My old Inspiron 5150 is able to receive a 65% signal from the basment and my router is located in the second floor office.

However, an adequate signal is wholly dependant on the conditions you are working in.

I have the Dell wireless n card. It's the best internal card I've ever used in my life.
