I have read some existing resources but many seem a little too old to draw any conclusions. I would love to hear if anyone has purchased Scratch and Dent units from Dell recently and how their experience has been?

    Thank you.

Scratches are one thing, dents are another issue. Remember a dent usually means something hit the product hard enough to dent it. If it is on the top of the laptop who knows how reliable the display will be. If the dent is near a critical area like where the HDD or Optical drives are you also need to be worried. I would ask for a picture or locations of all the scratches and dents before buying and make sure you get the longest warranty possible. If they won't offer one on that unit, take that as a warning not to buy.

Thanks for the advice. Although, with the 3 year warranty on most business machines, I think most issues would show up and be covered under warranty.

I wanted to know what people who have purchased Scratch and Dent from Dell recently have received as far as the condition goes.

Most will have a minor scratch that might be hard to even find. On the rare occasion though you will get one that looks like it took a beating. Dell will usually offer a system exchange if this is the case. If not, you can return it without issue.
