Here's a good one. Two days before my ship date on my second order (first one canceled/changed) I called the automated order status line and it told me my system was in the "testing phase" which according to dell means that my system was built and is being checked/having software loaded. I got the "first notice of order delay" about 18 hours later. After calling dell and getting told by one person it was my processor that was delaying the order and another telling me it was the chassis and not the processor I couldn't help but wonder what was really going on. How could my system have been magically removed from "testing" and gotten unbuilt so that parts of it could be on backorder? Has anyone else found themselves in a position like this and if so, what did you do and how did it work out for you?

Maybe the original processor was faulty so it needed replacing?
My order has also taken a backwards step, going from 'production' to 'pre-production'. -
Mine was in boxing since last monday 8/13 until friday 8/17 when I called and talked to a csr who informed me that it wasn't in boxing at all, instead, still in build. Now when I call it says build instead of boxing.

Mine went from "build" to "pre-production."
It's back on build now, but I think I got booted to the end of the line.
Has anyone else's inspiron been UNbuilt?
