Hi all, I'm in the market for a new laptop and I just can't seem to figure out which laptop is best.

I heard about the whole GDDR2/3 fiasco with the 1520, which led me to look into the ASUS G1S, however I've heard that it does heat up while the Dell 1520 doesn't heat up as much.

The laptop is going to be for school and some mid-level gaming (Batlefield 2142, Guild Wars, Rome Total War currently, with needs to play future games), so would the 1520 still be a viable choice even if it's video card is slower than the G1S? And if there are any other comparable choices in the 15" notebook area with at least the nVidia 8600m, please state them as I am interested!

    Thanks!

The 1520 should play the games listed at mid and high settings. It should play the future games 1 and 2 yrs. down the line at medium.
As far as the notebooks that have the 8600gt....Sager np2090 is the only one I can remeber right now that has one and its even 512 instead of the 1520 256mb card.
