Just wondering have anyone tried playing Crysis, FarCry2, or World at War with their Studio 15s. I'm interested particularly in someone who has a similar setup as mine. I don't want to go out, buy the game, come to find out it won't even run properly. Thanks in advance

I don't think ATI 3450 is able to handle Crysis even in mid-setting =\
    just a thought

I believe you can find YouTube videos of a desktop 3450 running Crysis and possibly Far Cry 2. Just keep in mind that the mobile version is even less powerful, and may struggle to run Crysis at low resolution and settings with a decent frame rate. Far Cry 2 should be a little smoother, but I don't have any numbers for you.

I downloaded and ran the Crysis demo. At low settings with everything, it will run low 20fps.

i am not 100% sure the power difference between the 3450 and 3650. This may not help you but heres my 2 cents. i use the mobilitymodder.com drivers. (they do help ive tested) but with them. i run wow on all high settings but i keep shadows off (shadows dont really do much but slow down everything) i average 50fps in shatt. Ive run crysis with medium settings and i average 30fps there.
    Hope i helped!

I've played all 3 on my 8400M GS, which is comparable to the 3450 if not a bit worse.

Crysis: 1024x640, Medium w/ Shaders + Shadows at low
Far Cry 2: 1024x640, mixture of Medium/High with Shadows, Terrain and Geometry on low
COD:WAW: 1024x640, Textures high and most things on with Specular + Shadows off. Some maps on singleplayer with extensive jungle did not fare very well. Zombie mode is a bit better, i can play it at 1280x800 with Specular on.

I've played Crysis, Call of Duty 4, Counter Strike Source, Command and Conquer Generals and Red Alert 3.

I will be trying Gears of war soon.

But all played very smoothly at various resolutions. Crysis was the worst. I had to run it with no FSAA, but everything else on high or med.

    of course I am running a ATI HD 3650, and a Monteveniea Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53ghz with 6MB cache and 1066 FSB and DDR2 800 RAM 4GB.

Remember ATI graphics cards are very dependant on your CPU.

which is why people see me running games are like wow.

heres a vid of an ASUS M50S laptop which is basically my same Specs, except mine are better because my CPU is faster and has more cahe

he is running Crysis pretty well.

If I disable Vista eye candy and transparency I should be able to get better performance than this guy

The most intensive game I've tried on mine is X3: Terran Conflict. It defaults to high settings and chugged a bit, but dropping everything to medium (except resolution) it runs just fine, by which I mean 20-30fps, remembering it's not a twitch game by any means.

Y'know, in case anyone was wondering. ;)
