I know 5 years ago this was an issue, but now all the reviews i see either dont mention dead pixels, or make a point to say none were found.
Is this an issue i should still be worried about? It was the biggest reason i bought my current laptop(Toshiba M70) from a brick and mortar store, as i knew i could easily get it exchanged. That wont be the case with my next one(prob. M1330)

I have received about 2 dell monitors, and 2 notebooks and I have had no signs of dead pixels

Dead pixels can still occur; there hasn't been any major change really........ you can still find plenty of people who have gotten a laptop with one or two dead pixels.
One thing I have noticed is that it seems to be getting easier to get companies to let you return and exchange a notebook even for a single dead pixel (rather than 5 or more or whatever).

I never see the dead pixel, in my notebook ^^, And if i have notebook i can send my notebook to ASUS Centre to claim the warranty...

Someone had mentioned to me Asus' Zero Bright Dot policy, but the website for that indicated it was only a handful of models (I think like W1, V6 and M6). And it was 30 days. And only for stuck pixels, not dead pixels.
Has Asus's warranty been updated to now cover dead pixels across the board for all models (I see you have a G1)? Does that mean essentially that at any time if you get a dead pixel in any Asus, they'll replace the screen under warranty? -
my E1505 (6400) has one dead pixel, but i dont even notice it even during movies because its near the edge of the screen casing
i think the notebook came with the dead pixel. im not too sure because i was too excited for the first week to accually scan over every millimetre -
Yeah........ I think that's one of the great things about higher and higher res screens. Individual dead pixels become less noticeable.
My desktop monitor, a 1680x1050 20" Dell 2005fpw actually has two or three dead pixels, but they're essentially impossible to see unless I get really up close to the monitor and really look for them. -

Would be nice to see other manufacturers do that.
I've been following a discussion about this on the MacRumors forums, and it sounds like Apple might be moving in this direction too; not officially, but it seems like many of the people there were successful in getting their local Apple Stores to exchange their machines even for just one dead pixel (and if they weren't, they were able to manage to do it with Apple over the phone).

Has anyone who bought a laptop(dell or other) recently had a dead pixel?
