In my Inspiron E1505. It's been working fine until yesterday. Now everyone few minutes it will make a beeping type noise, like its trying to read a cd even if no disc is in it. Also it no longer reads any cd, dvds, or anything. Do I need to get it replaced? I have no clue how this could have happened.

Who is the maker of your CD drive?

If you don't know then go to My Computer --> right-click the CD drive ---> Hardware Tab. Should be listed under there.

I was thinking that maybe if I reformatted it would fix it, but since it won't read discs I can't reformat. And it's just out of warrenty. Damnit.
