I'm following a guide now, I just got the laptop today and the disc is clean

I just tried it again and still stops on that screen. It like does a quick flash and then the whole installation stops

I'm trying it now and so far it don't look good. I took off the recovery paration b.c I thought it was pretty much useless, but I guess I need it. I'm gonna let my lappy rest for a little bit and I'm gonna try it again soon

hey this is not a problem at all, its caused cuz u haven't installed the appropriate sata drivers when asked.

ok do one thing insert the vista dvd now when you come over to the partition page or may be before there is an option called "have disk" or "install driver" click it remove ur vista dvd and put in ur driver cd and follow the instructions... make the comp search for the drivers in the cd and it will find one click next, it'll install the driver

u r done now remove the driver cd and continue ur installation with the vista dvd

I've heard that is the SATA driver problem. You may either switch to ATA mode in the BIOS or re-install with the correct SATA driver loaded during the installation.
