    HelPPP!!! i just got my dell M140

    I just recevied Dell M140, evething looks fine. however there is a sound
    keeps coming from the comoputer i dont' know where it comes from
    it sounds like the harddisk is reading. sounds like click click

    I think i maybe too senstive about the new laptop. is it happens to everybody?
    that click sound when you run something

    Could be a hardware problem that's causing it to be noisier than it should. The other noisy part of a laptop is the fan, so you could try to determine which it is.

    how can i find out which is causing the sound?
    one thing i know is that the hardisk light is on almost all the time

    so should I call dell and replace it?

    Just try and keep track of when you hear the noise. About the HD light being on all the time, a computer is accessing it's HD a lot though I don't see why it should be constantly running.

    Don't replace it just yet unless you're sure this isn't normal, have you had the pc for more than 21 days?

    you need to clean out your system (reformat/reinstall OS *hint* *hint). your HD light is on a lot cuz your computer is working due to all the bloatware.

    you can also look for a volume option for the HD in the BIOS

    i just recevied now like 5 mins ago. after couple time i restarted my computer, the sound that comes from the computer is not all the times now
    probly once two mins and last 10 seconds or so

    I still think it could br the fan. Do you feel hot air being blown out of the vents when you hear the sound? Try running a demanding task and see what happens then.

    when i am running programs the weird sounds comes in.
    the sound is really weird is more sound like reading the CDs.
    and yeah i think it sounds more like clicksound

    btw how can i require to change another one from dell? is it likely?

    i just called the dell today and they are able to send me an exchange. it will be here within a week.~ everything was good they were really nice to talk to expect the waiting line is too long
