    I received my laptop today and i absolutely love it. Huge upgrade from my old celeron and already this thing is impressing me by leaps and bounds. This is my second laptop i have owned and the first was an emachine M2105 which was great for typing essays but sucked for everything else. I have 50gigs of music to upload to it and then i will be set to test it for what i got it for which is DJing Vinyl emulation :). I deleted most of what i thought was crapware but if someone could link me to a list of useless dell programs i should uninstall that would be great!!!!

    I have found that the 7300 driver from the dell site is really old from what people say so i plan on using this driver because it seems recommended http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ any other tweaked drivers for the 6400 you guys recommened??

    I will be tweaking the laptop for optimal performance for Dj vinyl emulation software, school work, and occasional counterstrike playing . These are the specs i got for 600 bucks WHooT:

    * Intel Core DUO T2350 (1.86GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)
    * Genuine Windows XP Home
    * 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display (with or without TrueLife for the same price)
    * 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm
    * 160GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
    * 8X CD/DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer DVD+R write capability
    * 256MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 TurboCache*
    * Dell Wireless 1390 802.11b/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
    * 53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
    * 1 Yr Ltd Warranty, 1 Yr Mail-in Service, and 1 Yr Tech Support

    I will be performing these tweaks to help performance http://www.audioforums.com/resources/windows-xp-optimization.html as well as attempting to use two different profiles for Djing and school, OR creating a batch file that disables many windows services that are not needed when running my DJ software. Please Comment.

    Actually its much lighter then my old emachines, i carried that in my backpack at school and that thing was heavyyyyy. This one is much lighter but i needed the 15" screen for Djing :).

    Side Note: I just installed CS and everything seems to be running perfect so im just going to leave the OEM graphics driver and not mess with anything for now.

    Yea i got super lucky they had this deal for about a week for small business and a few days after i ordered mine they included the ATI 1400 card for the same price so i called back and got a price match so i ended up paying 653 tax and everything :). So far i am very very happy with it. Im uploading all my music now.

    Does anyone have any suggestions on what they uninstalled when they got their new dells??

    Yea i saw that, i just called and asked for the price match because i am not going to use this as a gaming machine. Im glad i did though because from what i hear a lot of people are receiving their laptops with out the ati and having the 7300 instead, saves me the headache of returning it :). My brother wants one now so im off to look up a great deal for him.
