Hi everyone
just registered with notebookreview today, but have been utilizing this site for a while...just wanted to say everyone is super knowledgeable and helpful and polite!
quick question: I've been a happy m1330 owner for about 6 months now and just recently purchased a panasonic plasma tv. I connected my m1330 to the plasma and made all the appropriate setting changes. everything was working fine for the past few weeks until last night. I was watching a movie from netflix and the audio was choppy. every few minutes the sound would mute for about a second. Thought maybe it was because I was streaming the movie but tried playing an mp3 through wmp and had the same problem.
My drivers are all updated (nvidia graphics card and sigma tel audio driver)
thought maybe it was the hdmi cable, so I switched to a newer one and still the same problem. Could it be the hdmi port itself?
I saw some people post on this same problem but couldn't find any posted solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Play your music just on your laptop (not going through your tv). Do you have the same problem?

I am also running movies on my M1330 via HDMI on my Panny plasma as well and don't experience those issues. Try this. Play a movie that is loaded on your hard drive or DVD player and see if the problem persists.
If your drivers are up to date then the HDMI port could be at fault.
Let us know how it plays out and good luck. -
nizzy1115 - tried that, no problem with that at all, everything plays fine. strange, right?
DynamicZ - I will try your suggestion and post on how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion. -
ok, so here is what I did.
before I connected the laptop to the tv, I played a movie through netflix and it worked fine, no choppy audio. also played a few mp3's, also worked fine. Did this just to see if there was a problem with wmp or something else. Also did a reboot just to check that off the list.
next I connected the laptop via vga cable and audio through the headphone jack. everything worked fine through this method. no choppy audio or any problems with video.
after this, I connected the laptop to the tv via hdmi, but this time I used a different hdmi cable then before. everything was working fine again, no choppy audio or skipping or anything like that. I figured it must be the cable, right? just to make sure, I reconnected the original 6 ft. hdmi cable and again, everything was working fine. I played an mp3 and it was normal, then played another netflix movie and it was working but the sound was a bit off. I looked and it showed that the audio was coming from the laptop speakers, not the tv. I played an mp3 again, and the sound was coming from the tv. played the netflix movie and it switched back to the laptop speakers. The default audio device was set to the hdmi output the entire time, so for some reason the netflix movie kept switching to the stereo speakers. played some dvd's and they worked ok, audio seemed ok.
so, what do you guys think? is my laptop possessed? or does vista just suck?
