HI !! I purchased a NEW E1505 off ebay about a month ago.I formatted it soon after getting it and installed XP Pro with the help of SG.
Everything has been fine since then.Well this morning I came across another stick of 256 ram and thought I would add it to my 1 gig. After doing so ,my laptop went completely dead and it won't power up.I tried taking the ram out by removing both and then just the one) and also tried to remove the battery and then put it back in and the 1505 still won't power on.
Please any suggestions on what I could try or what could be the matter with it now? It's been running great till I tried to add the extra ram this morning.

hmm, normally, adding ram shouldn't cause any problems. Even if that stick is bad, your other stick should have worked fine.

Did you install the ram with the ac adapter plugged in?

Do have the ac adapter plugged in? Are any of your status lights on?

HI SG..No I did not have the ac adapter plugged in when adding the ram.The laptop was off the entire time. When I try and turn the laptop on now, there's only one solid green light on left of the power button and 2 flashing green lights. They flash for about 15 secs or so and then everything goes completely dead again. The screen is completely blank.

Sometimes the stick of Ram burns out. Anyway, I hope you have a good warranty with DELL. It's the Complete Care right?

the only thing that I could find is to reseat the RAM. You might try installing the ram again and making sure that it is in there nice and tight.

If that doesn't work, call Dell and see what they say. Maybe both sticks went bad.

[edit] LOL okay good to know that you got it fixed.
