    Okay...
So I have a major problem..

Everytime I unplug my battery on my Inspiron E1705..
    It shuts down...

I used to be able to unplug it and use it..
But now for some reason it automatically shuts off..

Does anyone know how to fix that problem?

    Your advice is much appreciated!
    :)

    3. Is the AC adapter plugged in?

    4. What has changed before it stopped working?

What he means is that your laptop came with a power cord. You need to have that plugged into your laptop in order for it to work without a battery attached.

That would be the cord that you plug into the wall. Your laptop will have two sources for its power, the battery, and the a/c adapter (or wall plug). Your computer will not run without your battery unless the a/c adapter is plugged in.

If your laptop shuts off and you are pluged into the wall your power brick might have gone bad.

"I used to be able to unplug it and use it, but now it shuts off"

99.9% sure that your battery is officially DEAD. If when you take the plug out of your computer, your computer shuts off, it is FOR SURE the battery.

Buy a new battery. It happens with overuse and overcharging the battery. That can cause pre-mature battery death. Since you said you don't know much about computers, i'm guessing you didn't know that batteries would die so fast from that type of use. That is why it is plausible that your battery died. With the battery market the way it is now, not a good time for your battery to go belly up.

    Hope that helps.

I believe what he is referring to here is THE BATTERY. When he unplugs the BATTERY, his unit shuts down. If it never used to do this, then before he MUST have had the A/C adapter plugged in as well. The only way you can remove your battery and still have your laptop work is if it is plugged in, or you have a secondary battery (ie: a media bay battery as backup).

    Regards.
