I need help really bad.
MyHard Drive for Inspiron 6400 died! I am photographer and need to get this running as soon as possible.
It came with a 120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive.
Trying to replace it with a bigger HD.
Not sure what to get.
Would the 7200 rpm be better.
Would the Seagate ST9160411AS Momentus 7200.3 SATA 3Gb/s 160 GB Bulk/OEM Hard Driven work?
Not sure what to buy.
If you guys can lead me in the right.
Thanks in advance
Eric

Pretty much any 2.5" SATA drive will work.

Any 2.5" SATA hard drive would work for your laptop as namaiki mentioned.
I'd personally go with a Western Digital brand, but Seagates are also very decent.
Newegg is a great place for computer junkies to buy parts from. Any of THESE would work for you.
Keep in mind that a higher capacity 5400RPM drive will perform similar to a low capacity 7200RPM due to the 5400RPM drive having a denser disk platter. -
yes it would work. try newegg or ebay.

The E1505 supports the 320gb 7200rpm drives and the 500gb 5400rpm drives.
I suggest looking at the Hitachi 7K320, it is the drive I am using in my E1505 and it runs exceptionally well, it is quiet, rather inexpensive, and a Hitachi.
