So after receiving my new m1530, I tried to install 3dmark 06 in Vista only to find that it does not even get to the unpacking of the .exe to start the installation.
It gets to the point where Vistas UAC asks me for authorization, but then it just stops. I've tried turning off UAC but no change. I had Dell support look at it, but no good either. I have re-installed the O/S afterwords (getting rid of all of the stuff that comes on a new lappy image), but this did not help either.

I have installed SP1 for Vista and still nothing. Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Teslas

I too am having this same issue. I googled it and this came up. Didn't want to make a thread for a issue that has probably already been discussed, but what ever, I'll just dig up an old post.

Anyone ever figure out how to correct this issue?

Yep. Something is wrong with your OS install or perhaps a third party app (antivirus, etc.). I had no problem at all D/L'ing and installing 3DMark06 under Vista SP1.

Not sure why you are running UAC - just switch it off and reboot. Download the installer again from another download site and try again.

Sometimes it happens if the 3DMark program is not downloaded properly and gets corrupted. So just redownload it and try.
