Step 1. Admitting you have an addiction
I AM ADDICTED TO CHECKING ON MY 1520'S BUILD STATUS
I have called 4 times today, and have my order number memorized.
Honestly, once i get my laptop i will no longer have anything to waste all my time doing![]()
I want to complain about how long it's taking but once i get it i won't really use it all that much...
I have few games, and a desktop to play them on.
Anyone else?
-
-
Me. Too much.
-
I was addicted, been clean for a good 12 hours now. Though I am now addicted to the tracking page, I have left it open and come back to it every couple minutes and refresh the page to check for the next update.
-
I forgot to mention i created this thread, in part, because i have been cut off
My 1520 has shipped, this was on my fourth call of the day. -
just wondering, is the phone more acurate than the internet when tracking the status. ive been hearing different things.
one more thing. when i call, is this thing automated. i had problems understanding the lady yesterday when i had to clear up my billing issue -
Yes... its automated.
-
There is an automated status number, (800)433-9014.
It will say something about you just being able to say your number and other useless info...
This is the only dell number i have ever dialed -
It depends 1stStrike. The website will desplay either In Production or Shipping if you don't log in. If you log-in you get the expanded one (for instance mine says Pre-Production). The Dell guy I just talked too said my Vostro should move from Pre-Production to real Production on Monday or Tuesday, yay!
-
You can type your number too...
I think i'm going to have it set up so that it will dial the number and the order number ... and set it on my speed dial! LOL -
i did the same thing -
someone give me their order number so i can hear something different than...
"Your order is in Production, and is in the build stage"
haha -
I think we need treatment for this addiction...
-
-
I have been an addict to the order status page for 2 months now, first with a 1505 that i cancelled and now with a 1520. I check the status page at least 20X a day. Still in build stage.
-
-
Yea, i checked it about 4 times at work today just hoping i go from build phase to TESTING! But my hopes are crushed every time, I'm gonna call dell and think of a reason to piss and moan and see if they can expediate it
-
-
I'll make up a stupid reason tomorrow after noon and let you know how it went

Yes, I am addicted to checking my m1330's status even though it never changes from pre-production
-
-
haha im so addicted- sigh
seems like we haev enough to start our own DSUA (dell status update anonymous) group -
Hello, my name is Jason, and I am a status-o-holic. I used to check it only 10X a day, but lately it's been 20X +
-
Yeeep... that would be much appreciated.
-
In addition I have become a forum addict, I just can't get enough of hearing about everyone else's laptops and how all these laptops ordered after mine are being shipped, yet mine is still in building phase
. I think I would rather be addicted to crack, at least then I know I will feel good at some point...lol.
-
I'm kinda addicted as well. I'm also addicted to this forum.
-
I'm well beyond addicted to this forum. 36.19 messages / day for me
.
-
I have 5-6 tabs open at a time every day on fire fox, Dell, Gaming, Hardware, Accessories (occasionally), Windows, and then multiple more for all the threads i find and want to read... then one for the dell status place and one for my computer if i built it today to see what its shipping date would be...
-
And i constantly update whichever threads i've posted in.... including this one...
-
i dont know which is worse, my need for my forums, or my desire to see how many times in a row i can check my build status -
I feel your pain entirely

holee crap people, read a book or something..
-
I'm addicted too, I check the online status at least 10 times per day hoping it will change from being in production to shipped, and I've been hoping for that for 12 days now.
I would check the phone status too, but it doesn't work for Canada. -
-
I still haven't read the 6th book....
and yea I'm on this forum too much. -
Im addicted to configuring the computer I want to get and checking coupons! I know that I will soon join the STATUS ADDICTION ANONYMOUS club when I finally place my order, though!
-
Could it be because I ordered mine over the phone? -
-
This thread makes me laugh.

I HAVE GOOD NEWS! "Mabel" or whatever it was in customer service, and I had a nice talk today. I told you guys I would call and complain which i did, I told her that after ordering my laptop on the 8th of july, I called Dell and was reassured that it would only have a 3-5 day build time and now it has been building for six days. She understood and told me she would send me a case number and forward my case to the "concern dept" and they would make sure to expedite (exact word she used) my system. However it will take 48-72 hours, nice save Dell... She told me I would receive a call back on the 23rd at some time during the day and we'd go from there... This will turn out to be interesting...
-
My second 1520 shipped 6 minutes ago! I don't know if it's live or not, but you guys might want to check it out and see if yours shipped too.
-
Iro, just wondering...when did you order yours?
-
why must dell make me suffer with this waiting. i want my laptop now. stupid thing is still stuck in pre production
