    Help - Studio 17 Won't Turn On?

    Okay, I recently purchased a dell Studio 17. After a few days of it being fine, once when I was using it while plugged it, the screen suddenly turned white and it turned off. There was also a popping sound and a burning smell. Now whenever I turn on the screen it's a simple white screen that flashes from white to black to white and then just turns off. When i move around the mouse and click, I can eventually hear the windows vista sounds, but the screen stays white. Does anyone know what's wrong with the laptop? I've had it for four days.

    Sounds like there was a short somewhere... poor QC I suppose. I doubt it's something that's easily fixed. If you only got it recently, you should definitely return it and ask them to send you a new one.
