    Hi,

Looking for some advice, my brothers laptop was very slow so i reformatted the hard drive and put vista on fresh. But when it's on completing installation it just hangs there.

So i did a search and it said something about changing the bios to ATA. But i cannot find the option in the bios menu.

It's a Vostro 1000 and has PheonixBios if that helps.

    Thanks

May need to install hard drive driver before the OS installation. Right before the OS installation, you are given a choice to install hard drive installation.

    Give it a try.
