    G'day,

I've got a Dell Inspiron and I was trying to install a thingo to iTunes to make the keys on the front of the laptop control when music plays. It didn't work cause my version of iTunes was too new, so I installed an older version.

Problem is, the older version was some weird Mac version and installed this ****house font which seems to have replaced one of my default windows ones. And now all the start menu icons have disappeared.

I've tried uninstalling iTunes and everything's still messed up. Do I have to reinstall windows?

    Help.

    Thanks,

    Jonny.

Try to go back prior to installtion of whatever you installed via windows restoration function...

If you want to use media buttons, it doesn't mean you should use iTunes (I would use anything but iTunes)

    Try winamp ( www.winamp.com ) - + MMD3 Skin

There's absolutely nothing wrong with iTunes. The more I use it, the more I like it.

I sync both my iPod and iPhone with iTunes and haven't had any problems at all.

I too, would recommend Winamp. Not only does it have global hotkeys (you can use the keys on the front everywhere, even in games), but you can also sync your iPod to it. And sync your music off your iPod.

    Also, skins are neat.

I stopped using iTunes when it started shuttering the sound. There's no reason for it to shutter at all, common, even my razor can play mp3's without shuttering them. Their MP3's for goodness sake. And why can't I pull my music off my iPod in iTunes? Seesh...*semi rant over*

C'mon, 'your iPod and your iPhone' are the reason you use iTunes

Actually no.....for the longest time I was using Anapod with my iPod simply because I didn't want to use iTunes due to everyone complaining about it.

When I finally gave up on Anapod and tried iTunes, I really couldn't (and still don't) understand why people don't like it.

I don't use iTunes simply because I have an iPod and iPhone. I use it because it works, and it works well.

Itunes is great, and works perfectly on my laptop.
The media buttons work as well for me. All I did was install the latest version from apple.com.

Well yes, iTunes is fine, but what I'm saying is it is an "apple" brand (which is fine) but WinAmp is designed for Windows and I believe is much better, but I do use iTunes sometimes, but that's just because I own an old iPod mini

iTunes is the one reason I would never ever even consider buying an iPod for myself. The amount of swearing and hassle it causes in our house (wife and daughter have iPods) is absolutely astounding.

It is a bloated buggy piece of crap.

So you're saying that iTunes for Windows, wasn't really designed for Windows, and WinAmp is better because *IT* was designed for Windows?
