Well here are the two links between the ram Im considering. Im a gamer and I want two gigs of ram in my e1705. I have the choice between these two. The 667 may be slightly better but is it worth the twenty dollar differnce in buying two? I consider everyones opinion gr8 as long as you post asap![]()

If your a gamer then you should just buy the best of whatever you can get.. lol. Because the games are just going to keep on requiring more and more..

I've heard the performance increase is not noticeable; Save yourself a few bucks and go for the 533 stick.
-
I think that there is a slight improvement in performance 1-5%, but i heard it had higher memory latency, but the price is not a lot more expensive than the 533mhz one, so i personally get it.

I've never seen a 1gig stick that cheap...a couple bad reviews, what do you guys think about going for cheap ram? Like this vs. kingston or corsair?
-
-
I'd just go for the best of both worlds, if you don't mind rebates

Isn't the valueselect different from regular corsair?

The primary difference between "Value" RAM and regular or performance RAM is the testing done to it - the value RAM is not tested to the extent of the performance/regular and therefore might not stand up as well to extreme performance testing - it could fail, etc. But such occurances are rare. ValueSelect is fine for the vast majority of the people out there, even gamers.
I found a 1GB DDR2-667 So-DIMM for $79:

If you can spend the extra ten bucks, go for it, otherwise there won't be any problems with the DDR2-533. -

I recommend this! I have one stick and plan on getting another. It's great and cheap!! -
Take the cheapest (branded) ram you can find. Personal experience has shown that the differences in performance are only noticable in benchmarks. Unless saving a few seconds on media encoding really matter to you I cannot reccomend more expensive RAM.

I have recently got an OCZ 1GB 667 stick and from few tests i done i have seen only changes in benchmark utils, but no real performance gain with games...
Help ASAP Ram Choice! 533 Vs. 667 ?
