Hi I have a dell inspiron 9300 laptop with a WUXGA screen.

    I have a strange problem.

The lower half of the screen cuts out. That is, the top half works fine, but the bottom half is completely different. Its shows a wall of fuzzy light blue color.

I noticed that if I apply pressure to the screen (approximately half way up on the left side) that the screen fixes and the display is normal. If I remove the pressure the screen gets fuzzy again.

So right now I have a clamp on the left side of my laptop screen. Obviously this is not a long term solution :)

Any idea on what the problem is and what I need to do to solve this.
    Thankyou.

that seems to be a light leakage; most commonly found on dell laptop and other laptop that have poor screen design (and there is a lot of them) even the new sony 17" VAIO AR series.

How is that like leakage? The whole bottom half of the screen is fuzzy. It sounds like a problem Dell needs to take care of. Are you still under warranty?

no its not like leakage. The whole bottom of the screen becomes unreadable, its almost like a giant wall of light blue, but as soon as you apply pressure the screen fixes.

Im no longer under warranty :(
