    Help Installing Dell Media Direct...

    Hi,

    I've got a Dell 1405 (640m) and just formatted it. I left a 2048mb partition while installing windows as per the instructions. However now when I go to install media direct, it stops at 10% and then exits....

    Have I done something wrong at all? I have not installed anything else on the computer so far, its just a care windows copy.. Perhaps I have to install some of the other applications for it to work?

    The process for installing MediaDirect up to version 3.5 is to insert and boot from the MediaDirect install disc. This will prompt you to create a partition for MD. Once this is completed, you will then be prompted to install your OS.

    You must first run the MediaDirect installer before installing your OS.

    If you are version 4 of MediaDirect, then this is not required as version 4 does not utilize a partition and is a standalone application.

    Hi. Thanks for your reply.

    I think I have media direct 2.0 Disk that came with my laptop. I inserted that anyway and cant boot from it...

    Any help is appreciated!
