    Hi guys.
I have an Inspiron 6400 (CAD, US- E1505), and have a problem. I created two user accounts, lets call them #1 (w/ admin rights) and #2 (limited account). Whenever I switch accounts (NOT log off) from #1, and then log on to #2, I start to hear tick tick sounds coming from the laptop (somewhere on the left? not really sure) and after a few minutes, the CPU heats up to 60c, when the fan gets into HIGH mode (fan goes high at 60c using I8fanGUI).
So yeah, when I am only logged on account #1, everythings calm/no wierd sounds/no temperature spikes. As soon as I switch users to account #2, everything starts to screw up.

Any help in fixing this problem would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Specs:
-Inspiron 6400 (US equiv. of E1505)
    -Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2GHz
    -1 GB of RAM (2x512)
    -120GB HDD
    -ATI Mobility X1400
    -15.4" XGA Screen

That is really weird... if you log of and log into just one at a time theres no problem?

Logging in an account individually one at a time has no effect, only when you switch users... yep... really wierd :/

Are the power settings for account number 2 set to "always on"?

edit: this wouldn't make a difference if the symptoms are there when individually logging into each account.

You mean the power scheme? For account #1 - they are all set to "Never" ... account #2... its probably on default settings for Notebook/Laptop power scheme.

k, temporarily made account #2 admin rights for now, put the power schemes to "never", logged off #2, logged back on #2, sounds/temp problem still exists.
BTW, it takes around 2 minutes for the temperature to go up/fan to start but the ticking sound starts immediately.
