Hello, I've recently purched the Dell Inspiron 6000 ( thanks for the help btw) and knew from reading the previous reviews that I would have to remove bloatware so it would run much better. Ive read reviews and have also looked for some tips on how to remove this and have only found posts from people who were trying to remove bloatware from their system and accidently removed something else causing more problems. I am hoping to avoid this but the problem is that I've never done this before. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.. website/directions.. etc..
    Thanks!
    Chris

if you are not sure what to remove, it would be best to post a screenshot of the Add/Remove Programs window and people here will tell you what to keep and what not.
you may also want to check the msconfig/startup (start-run/msconfig) tab

Burn the restore dvd (assuming a burner) before you remove anything. That is the only thing I wish I did. I am not sure how useful it really is but once the sonic junk is gone the ability to burn the image is also gone.

For the most part, any junkware that you want, you can get from dell. Programs like cyberlink powerdvd and sonic are also available from dell. All of the drivers are available on the website.

Are you looking to keep the trialware also?

nope, I dont need any trialware or anything - Ive just read over and over that the best thing to do is to take out all the bloatware and remove the partition dell puts in.. I guess I'd just follow the instructions youve recently posted about reformatting?
