    I recently bought a back-lit keyboard for my Dell Inspiron 14r laptop but i cannot seem to find the place to put to the second ribbon for the back-lit keyboard.

    If any of you could help me i would appreciate it alot.

    Thanks :)

    If you can't find it, chances are your laptop doesn't support it.

    The connector is on the motherboard ( small horizontal connecter below the vertical keyboard connecter) but the palmrest doesn't have the opening to access it. You have to carefully cut a piece off to connect the cable.

    Will post some pics when I get a chance to open a 4110.

    good luck.

    If you are still looking for info on doing this, below is what I did;

    Got a Backlit Dell XPS 15 L502X (0PVDG3) keyboard from ebay (works perfect on the N4110).

    Follow Dell N4110 service manual to remove keyboard and palm-rest.

    The Backlit LED power connector is hidden under the palm rest pic1, you have to cut an opening as shown in pic2 with distances in CM.

    The size of the opening is 0.7 x 0.9 CM and is 2CM from the bottom edge and 1CM from the right side metal guide as shown in pic.

    Use a dremmel or a soldering iron with a knife tip or any other tool to cut the opening shown in red. Use a File smoothen the edges, Assemble the palm rest and Backlit keyboard with led power connection. Completed opening showing connecter in pic3.

    It should work as i the last pic.
