I post my story already kind of, but dell has send me another laptop that does not work. They sent me a 1525 replacement for my 1420 (with out a graphics card) i was going to accept this but it doesn't power on. I am sending it back to dell but i convinced that i don't want to do business with them(had to argue with them for 3 hours to take it back) I am dealing with escalation services which is pretty horrible (keep telling me there is nothing they can do). If anyone has any advice i could use it now.

This was posted yesterday...What is happening now??? Any updates?

If you are dealing with escalation tell the Rep you want to speak with the Supervisor..may or may not help..

They replaced your 1420 w/a 1525 and it will not power *on*? And, I'm taking it that you don't want it *fixed* or want to try *another replacement*

    How old was your 1420?

    Cin. ;)

Ok...when you contact back on Tuesday for the Esc. Dept., I would not speak with that rep again..I would be nice, polite..but firm..and ask to speak with the dept. mgr...regarding the replacement....and the issues, and ask how are they going to make you happy as the consumer! As, you like the Inspiron very much, and that your lappy is still new! ;) :)

    Well, that's what I would do! ;)

    Cin ;) :)

Just curious, but why did they replace your 1420 with a 1525? Did they offer you another 1420?

Don't forget that you can always demand your money back and issue a charge back on the card you used to pay for the computer. Typically this is possible up to a year after the date of purchase. Because you are in dispute, and you are getting jerked around you might as well consider getting the money back the unfriendly way and look into making a purchase somewhere else.

I had a similar issue with my inspiron e1705 more than a year ago and after a lot of dealing with escalation services I was offered a refund. At that time my laptop was into its 2nd year of warranty. So ask for it.
