I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, and the DC jack/socket is bad. It ran fine on the battery until the battery died. I replaced the AC power adapter, and still have the problem. When i jiggle the plug the light blinks. Must I get a new DC jack, or can I just try to zap the connectors and resolder the connection on the existing DC socket? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does the light flash when the battery is out of the laptop?
