I have Inspiron9300 with nVidia GeForce Go 6800, today I playing a online game, then suddenly the computer freezed, then I restart it... then it go to a black screen then refreshed, then a blue screen pop up then it auto restart, keep on doing that...
then I reformat my computer, everythings is good, but then after I install the Nvidia driver, it ask me reboot, then reboot till a black screen, then same problem continue, and I noticed the screen when I open my Dell Inspiron9300, there is some weird lines on the "DELL" word, and the display is so blur...and I notice there is spelling mistake happen when I going into safe mode "window" become "wigdonws"...and some of the words just go crazy...
what happen? can anyone help me?

Sounds like your GPU is fried. Short of replacing it, at this point if you're no longer covered by Dell, I would suggesting getting a new notebook. You might want to double check by hooking your notebook up to an external screen to make sure it's not the notebook screen.

I agree with the cooked GPU assesment--what i *think* he means is that you should plug a VGA cable into your laptop to make sure that the screen is not bad on your notebook. Have you tried other drivers besides the nvidia drivers? I believe there are "forceware" drivers out there, you might want to give those a try. What OS are you using, XP?

Your 9300 is 2-3 yrs old now and if you've been playing a lot of games with it and haven't opened it up to clean it and/or kept it cool while gaming it is very likely that the GPU is fried and yes, it may cost you quite a bit depending on the severity of the damage. If it is the GPU, then you need to replace it, call dell, they may still sell/stock them. If it's the same config as the newer 9400/E1705 then you can get ATI X13/1400 or Nvidia 7900GS. If the damage has spread, then you might need to replace your motherboard as well.

It seems as though the graphics card is damaged, and has probably overheated, like the others have said. You can probably get a Go 6800 on ebay or from Dell, and you should be able to replace it. I'm not sure of the differences between the 9300 and 9400/E1705, but if they use the same basic chassis, then you may be able to fit a number of other graphics cards, like the Go 7800, Go 7800 GTX and Go 7900 GS. They may even be cheaper than a Go 6800, so it may be something you may want to look into.
