    Hi guys -

    I can get the follwoing for $550 ($650 - $100 amex rewards gift card I can get). Is this a good price or does Dell usually have good deals like this and I should wait?

    yea man, sick deal and you cant really guarantee with dell whether if it will decrease or increase with price, but Im pretty sure it will not get much lower than what youre paying there. Good choice with the vostro too...windows XP!!!

    hmmmm one thing tho. I'm not actually sure bout this but i dont think XP Home edition is able to utilize both processors. I think u might need to upgrade to XP pro if u want to use ur pc to the fullest.

    No worries XP home can use dual core just fine. Its two separate cpu sockets it cant use whereas xp pro supports multiple sockets. Both can do dual core.

    Record Music with Pro Tools 7.3 MBox 2 Mini, Im upgrading from a P4 1.8 GHz.

    Well and all the usual tasks, plan to take it to school when I go for my MBA.

    for that price, that is the best system you are going to get. the only really options for that price are laptops with crappy celeron processors. you cant even get a turion x2 for that price
