I have a E1505. I'm really worried about the white trims being scratched just like an ipod and the painted silver covering of this laptop being worn down especially where we put our wrists while typing.
I have seen many laptops that the painted covering turned white and it almost looked like a WHITE MAC. Of course I don't want that to happen. I've owned a HP NX7000 before this laptop and it is so durable. Even when my hands are wet the wrists rests painting did not wear out. I also dropped it once with a huge impact in our glass table and the paint job is still good.
My question is kind of silly and you may think this is kind of weird but here it is.
Are there any ways protecting these finishes other than PURE BRUTE CARE? I mean, is there some kind of coating, covering, paint, etc., to put on this laptop to protect it?

I know that it is possible to get some clear plastic that is sticky one one side, but I only use that stuff for screens on mp3 players and psp and such, not sure how well it would work on the outside of your laptop. I finally just decided that I'm going to paint my E1505, but its already scuffed up on the lid, after just 2 months, but I move it around alot.

The worse it looks, the less the chance someone's gonna take it. As long as it still works, I'll be happy. Trying to overprotect it too much will get really annoying. Just let what happens happen...
