Just received the Inspiron 1420 yesterday, and I was very disappointed about this laptop. The screen is not very bright, the machine looks outdated, very thick and heavy. I want to return this to Dell but not sure if they would take it back with no question asked.
Has anyone here return anythink back to Dell just because they don't like it?
    Thanks.

Come on, it's America! You could take anything back to a store. When the Dell reps ask you just tell them what you told us here. Customers are supposed to be satisfied with their product, and unfortunately you weren't.

They do charge a restocking fee. It's only fair if you put them to the trouble of building it.

Dell did not charge me a restocking fee for returning my 1520.
I did return it within 21 days.
This is in the US. I don't know about other countries.
