I just got an e1705 and found this website a little late. I reformatted and am in need of drivers for my computer. I didn't realize that I should've put them on my flash drive.... If anybody has them, please email them to me at [email protected] -- or, can I get them at the Dell website? I have the e1705 2.0ghz, 7900GS, Bluetooth, and the upgraded sound with XP Media Center.

Also, when starting windows now, it asks me what OS to start. They are both listed as the same, one works, whereas one says that the files are missing (the one that i 'formatted" any way to get rid of this?

thank you so much for the help

you can get the drivers from support.dell.com. The upgraded sound (assuming you are talking about SoundBlaster Audigy) is actually software, and you'll have to contact Dell for that.

As for your second question, you need to edit your boot.ini file. To do this, the directions are in the Reformat & Reinstall Guide (see link below) in Chapter 6, Question #1

LOL, yes I am a girl (my real name is Amber) - and no I don't work from them. They opened up a call center just a few hours away, and parents wanted me to go apply there, but I don't think I could ever work for dell.

The countless people upset with Dell, non stop calling and complaining...ugh, you made the right choice

Yeah, you can download the drivers from the dell site, and just transfer them to the flash drive, or you can burn them to a disc, etc

make sure that you have the right wireless driver. Dell normally has two wireless cards for each laptop.

    Are you getting any errors?
