I just received my brand new Dell Vostro 1400 with XP. Everything set up perfectly, got online, get a windows update notice, click on the yellow shield but update KB928366 will not install. Downloaded Belarc 7.2, Belarc tells me I'm missing 4 Microsoft hotfixes. I'm not that advanced tech wise and don't have a clue what to do here. Any advice?

Thanks Jakpro, I tried to install them manually and it didn't work. In add remove pgms it says I've got Framework 1.1. Shouldn't the notebook have arrived with this all sorted out?

Yes, but sometimes hotfixes are not updated.

Did you try the links that I posted?

Yes thanks, I tried the links and wasn't able to install anything. I'm going to have to call Dell. I think the notebook should have come with everything updated and I'm not tech savvy enough to deal with this. As you said I don't think it had the hotfixes updated.

Just wanted to say that the problem was fixed by Dell and their awesome tech support person who worked on my notebook for 2 hours. I can't even remember the last time I received such great phone support. Very happy with my move from HP to Dell.
