You can contact Dell and report the system stolen, and provide the police report. If someone ever tries to call for support, Dell might be able to get it back.

If you do not already have home insurance that covers the laptop, there is nothing you can do.

Do you have the dell remote access thing installed on your laptop? recently there was a case where the thief / laptop was located using this remote access thing.. also there was a case where a woman activated her webcam and took pictures of the guy and so on...

Meanwhile, first call Dell and report it as stolen.. give them your service tag and all details so as Greg said, they can track it if the someone ever calls for tech support...

Haven't you made a note of the service tag? Have you never used it before?

    Ooppss.. thats so lost!! Dude...

Anyway, call Dell and ask them if they get your service tag.. they might have it somewhere. But convince them your laptop is stolen and if needed fire off a fax copy of your FIR to Dell Support...

Your service tag should also be on your invoice.
